Sam Marzetti is a 16-year-old junior downhill racer from Verwood. Sam has many podiums and wins all over the country and is currently the Southern Champion after taking the top spot at UK Bike Park in 2011. He competes all around the country racing most local races and most of the British National Downhill Series. His best result in 2011 being 12th at Moelfre in the youth category, So far this year his best national result was at the 1st round of the BDS he came 14th and was the youngest in his cat, where he was racing in the Junior category (16-18) which means he is racing against lots of world cup and factory sponsored riders.
As well as racing downhill Sam also rides lots of dirt jumps, skate parks and cross-country all of which helps with training for his racing by improving his bike handling, skill and fitness. He is the one leading out on our Wednesday night rides!
For the rest of the season Sam will continue to race downhill, the odd cross-country event and dip his toes into enduro races as-well. He is going to be competing in more of the BDS national series and the National champs in Moelfre which will be his first ever national championships.
Sam currently rides a Giant Glory for downhill and a Giant Trance X 3 for cross-country and enduro.
